I began looking at the various logo designs that were in use across the site and wallpapers in use in the distro itself and it became clear to me that (no offense palemoon (or ed)) there was a need for a universal logo. Something that was simplistic, yet eye catching, memorable, easly associated with the Liquid Lemur Linux Name, and embodied Ed's philosophy about Lemur. So I began making various backgrounds, going through various logo designs, which eventually gave birth to a logo contest held in the lemur forums. To my surprise Ed chose my logo design.
Within a few weeks of the contest I had release 4 wallpapers in 12 resolutions for 3 different desktop environments. Ed had yet another surprise in store as he eventually upgraded I and my fellow logo designers to Lemur Supported status but that is not the last surprise he had in store for us.
To my total shock, was ask by Palemoon (Ed) if I would be interested in taking a spot on the Lemur Staff / Dev team. So after picking my jaw up out of the floor I replied to his message telling him that I would take it. So to make a long story short, yea too late I know, here I am taking my first active role in a distro project.
Thanks for the opportunity Ed and thanks to the rest of the Lemur staff and community for the encouraging comments on the wallpapers and for the input that helped shape the Lemur Logo to what it is today.
